Goblinic Stool and Tablet is my first attempt at creating ceramic furniture and larger tablets. The imagery on both objects reflect the world of Stamvathes: the stool reflecting cryptic symbolic imagery while the tablet depicts a more narrative scene for audiences to engage with.
The work is an exploration in asking viewers to physically sit with my work, orienting themselves to the stature of small goblins as they view the narrative tablet in front of them. The work has become a jumping off point for my current work: creating furniture and installations for audiences to sit on and interact with as they become immersed within the worlds I build.
