Athres Beseeches Nemogis//Athres Defeats the Archon is one of my first attempts at using majolica. Inspired by ancient Greek, Italian Renaissance, and contemporary ceramics, I create work that spans 1000s of years of ceramic history in order to create objects that feel both real and fantastic. As with all of my work, this piece is inspired by the events of the Dungeons and Dragons campaign I write and facilitate, “Goblina and the Magic Ribbon.” The vessel tells the story of Athres, a warrior known for their prowess in battle and the role they’ve played in Stamvathes history.
